In an era where sustainability is more than just a buzzword, Rolf eyewear stands out as a shining example of how a brand can marry style and environmental responsibility. Founded in the scenic landscapes of the Austrian Alps, Rolf eyewear has carved a niche for itself by crafting premium eyewear that is not only visually striking but also sustainable.

Rolf place great importance on quality and sustainability. Their glasses are made by hand and are made from natural materials such as wood, beans and stone. Which makes them not only durable but also environmentally friendly.

Rolf’s latest launch is the Substance range which are spectacle frames made from Castor beans. Oil is produced from the beans of the castor oil plant, it is then processed into powder and 3D printed using mainly water as a binding agent.

The Substance range utilises Rolf’s Flexlock hinge design, which involves no screws or spare parts. The Flexlock hinge can be printed at the same time as the frame to enabling Rolf to make all it’s glasses in one batch, minimising the amount of external suppliers needed.

The Substance range is available in our Southsea practice only.
