Typanometry

Tympanometry is an essential diagnostic tool used to assess middle ear function and identify potential abnormalities. During a tympanometry test, a probe is inserted into the ear canal to measure how the eardrum responds to changes in air pressure. This allows us to evaluate conditions such as fluid buildup, eustachian tube dysfunction, and middle ear infections.

By analysing the tympanogram, a graphical representation of the ear’s response to pressure changes, we can determine the integrity of the middle ear system and detect any abnormalities. Tympanometry is particularly valuable for diagnosing conditions such as otitis media, adhesive otitis, and tympanic membrane perforations.

The tympanometry service provides crucial insights into middle ear health, enabling early detection and appropriate management of ear conditions. With accurate diagnosis and targeted interventions, we aim to promote optimal ear function and overall well-being for our patients.
